Hiking in Crete

Akolita – Kamares, in the region of Phaestos, Heraklion is a small trail of about 9 kms that will offer you a spectacular view to the south of Crete, towards the Gulf of Messara as well as the foot of the majestic mountain of Psiloritis.
Nida – Rouvas, a similarly short and easy trail of about 11.5 kms will take you through the forest of Rouvas, a route filled with the smells of rare and flavorful wildflowers and aromatic herbs. On the way you shall encounter the water spring of Varsamos.
Rouvas – Zaros a trail for the devout, as in the 8 kms of it you will have the chance to admire the beautiful monastery of Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nicholas), the hermitage of Agios Efthimios and the Agios Minas chapel..
Ano Asites – Venerato – Profitis Ilias is another relatively easy route through the imposing landscape of this mountainous region. The length of the route is almost 14.5 kms and will take you through the Agios Antonios gorge.
